In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Ayah 81

English Meaning

How should I fear the things you associate with Allah when you do not fear associating partners with Him without any authority or proof from Him? Which of the two groups is more deserving of security, if you truly understand?

Explanation

Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام challenges his people to think logically. They feared harm from their idols while ignoring the much greater matter of associating partners with Allah without evidence.

Ayah 82

English Meaning

Those who believe and do not mix their faith with wrongdoing have security, and they are rightly guided.

Explanation

This verse connects genuine faith with security and guidance. The wording about “wrongdoing” is understood in the context of the passage as a warning against compromising pure belief in Allah.

Ayah 83

English Meaning

That was Our argument which We gave Ibrahim against his people. We raise in rank whom We will. Surely, your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing.

Explanation

Allah highlights the clear reasoning given to Ibrahim عليه السلام. Knowledge, wisdom, and guidance are gifts from Allah, and He knows who is deserving of greater responsibility and rank.

Ayah 84

English Meaning

We granted Ibrahim Isaac and Jacob, and We guided them all. Before them We had guided Noah. From their descendants came David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron. In this way We reward those who do good.

Explanation

Allah mentions a succession of honored Prophets and shows that guidance continued through generations. Their lives demonstrate the connection between faith, righteousness, and divine guidance.

Ayah 85

English Meaning

And We also guided Zakariya, Yahya, Isa, and Ilyas. All of them were among the righteous.

Explanation

Allah continues naming Prophets who were characterized by righteousness. Their mention reminds believers that prophetic honor is connected with obedience and devotion to Allah.

Ayah 86

English Meaning

And We guided Ismail, Al-Yasa', Yunus, and Lut. We favored each of them above the people of their time.

Explanation

Allah mentions more Prophets and describes their special favor. Their distinction came through divine selection, guidance, and their service to the truth.

Ayah 87

English Meaning

And from among their fathers, descendants, and brothers, We also chose some and guided them to the straight path.

Explanation

Guidance and divine selection are mentioned among different generations and family lines. Being part of a respected family alone is not enough; true honor comes through guidance.

Ayah 88

English Meaning

That is Allah's guidance, with which He guides whom He wills among His servants. Had they associated partners with Him, their deeds would have become worthless.

Explanation

Even honored Prophets and righteous people are presented as servants of Allah who must remain upon Tawheed. The verse emphasizes the seriousness of Shirk.

Ayah 89

English Meaning

These are those to whom We gave the Scripture, wisdom, and Prophethood. If these people reject them, We have entrusted them to others who will not reject them.

Explanation

Allah reminds people that rejection of revelation does not harm His authority. He can raise others who will accept and uphold His guidance.

Ayah 90

English Meaning

They are the ones Allah guided, so follow their guidance. Say, “I ask you no payment for this.” It is only a reminder for all people.

Explanation

The Prophet ﷺ is instructed to follow the guidance of the Prophets before him in matters of truth and faith. The message of revelation is not presented as something sold for worldly gain.

Ayah 91

English Meaning

They did not honor Allah as He deserves when they claimed that Allah had revealed nothing to any human. Say: Who then revealed the Book brought by Moses as a light and guidance for people? They treated parts of it as written pages, revealing some and concealing much, while through revelation you were taught what neither you nor your ancestors knew. Say, “Allah.” Then leave them to continue in their arguments.

Explanation

The verse challenges the denial of divine revelation by pointing to the revelation given to Musa عليه السلام. It also warns against selectively presenting or concealing revealed guidance.

Ayah 92

English Meaning

This is a blessed Book We have revealed, confirming what came before it, so that you may warn the Mother of Cities and those around it. Those who believe in the Hereafter believe in it and carefully maintain their Prayer.

Explanation

The Qur'an is described as blessed and connected with earlier revelation. The verse also links belief in the Hereafter with accepting revelation and maintaining Salah.

Ayah 93

English Meaning

Who could be more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah, claims that revelation has come to him when it has not, or claims that he can produce something like what Allah has revealed? The verse warns of the humiliation awaiting those who knowingly speak falsely about Allah and reject His signs.

Explanation

This verse gives a severe warning against falsely claiming revelation or deliberately speaking about Allah without truth. It reminds people that revelation is a matter of enormous responsibility.

Ayah 94

English Meaning

You have come to Us alone, just as We created you the first time. You have left behind everything We gave you, and the partners or intercessors you claimed have not come with you. What you once claimed has disappeared.

Explanation

On the Day of Judgment, worldly possessions and false sources of support will not accompany a person. Each individual will stand before Allah without the worldly status they once relied upon.

Ayah 95
