Explanation
The verse rejects the idea that belonging to a religious community automatically guarantees forgiveness or special status. Accountability remains connected to one's relationship with Allah and one's deeds.

O People of the Scripture, Our Messenger has come to you after a period without messengers, making the truth clear to you so that you cannot say that no bearer of good news or warner came to you. Now a bearer of good news and a warner has come to you. Allah has power over all things.
Explanation
The verse emphasizes that the Messenger ﷺ came with clear guidance and warning after a period in which there had been no messenger sent to the people in that manner.
English Meaning
And remember when Moses said to his people: “O my people, remember Allah's favor upon you when He raised prophets among you, gave you authority, and granted you blessings that He had not given to others of your time.”
Explanation
Musa عليه السلام reminded his people of Allah's many blessings upon them, including prophets and special favors. The reminder prepares them for the command that follows concerning the Holy Land.
