Ayah 101

English Meaning

When you travel through the land, there is no blame upon you for shortening the Prayer, especially when you fear that hostile disbelievers may attack you. Indeed, the disbelievers are a clear enemy to you.

Explanation

This verse gives permission for shortening the Prayer during travel, particularly in circumstances of danger. It shows that Islam provides practical ease while preserving the obligation of Salah.

Ayah 102

English Meaning

When you are with the believers in a situation of danger and lead them in Prayer, one group should pray with you while remaining prepared, and another group should remain on guard before joining the Prayer. If rain or illness makes carrying weapons difficult, they may put them aside, but they must still remain cautious.

Explanation

This verse describes Salah during a dangerous situation, showing that even under threat, Prayer remains important. At the same time, believers are instructed to take reasonable precautions.

Ayah 103

When you complete the Prayer, remember Allah while standing, sitting, or lying down. When you are safe, establish the Prayer properly. Indeed, Prayer has been prescribed for believers at appointed times.

Explanation

Allah teaches believers to remember Him in every condition. Even during hardship, Salah remains important, and during safety it must be performed properly at its appointed times.

Ayah 104

Explanation

The verse encourages believers not to lose courage when facing hardship. Their hope in Allah gives them strength to remain patient and steadfast.

Ayah 105

English Meaning

Indeed, We have revealed the Book to you in truth so that you may judge between people according to what Allah has shown you. Do not become an advocate for those who betray trust.

Explanation

Allah commands justice even when dealing with people who may appear convincing. A person must not defend wrongdoing simply because of personal relationships.

English Meaning

Do not argue in defense of those who betray themselves through wrongdoing. Indeed, Allah does not love someone who repeatedly betrays and sins.

Explanation

Defending wrongdoing does not protect a person from accountability. Allah knows the truth behind people's actions.

Ayah 108

Explanation

People may conceal wrongdoing from others, but nothing is hidden from Allah.

Explanation

Private conversations are not automatically good or bad. Allah praises private discussions that lead to charity, righteousness, and reconciliation.

Ayah 115
