English Meaning
Allah tells the Messenger ﷺ not to be distressed by people who claim faith with their tongues while their hearts reject it, or by those who listen to falsehood and distort the words of revelation. Such people seek rulings according to their desires, while those whose hearts Allah allows to remain upon corruption cannot be guided by anyone against Allah's decree.
Explanation
This verse warns against insincerity, distortion of revelation, and choosing religious rulings according to personal desires.

They are willing to listen to falsehood and consume what is unlawful. If they come to you for judgment, you may judge between them or decline. But if you judge, judge with complete justice. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
Explanation
Justice must never depend on personal feelings or the identity of the people involved.

Allah gave communities different laws and ways as a test, and believers are encouraged to compete in good deeds.

Explanation
False loyalty eventually becomes exposed, while sincere faith is distinguished from empty claims.

Explanation
Faith is not dependent on one particular group of people. Allah can raise sincere servants who love Him and remain firm upon truth.

Explanation
A believer should respect the faith and avoid relationships that deliberately undermine religious commitment.

Explanation
The call to Prayer is a sacred reminder of Allah and should be treated with respect.

Explanation
The verse reminds believers that faith in Allah and His revealed guidance should not be abandoned simply because others dislike it.

Explanation
The verse warns about the severe consequences of persistent rebellion, rejection, and worship of false authorities. The reference to transformation is presented in the Qur'an as a punishment for particular wrongdoing, not as a general description of an entire community.
